Background: Extended reality (XR) systems play an increasingly role in preoperative planning in different surgical fields including neurosurgery. Considering educational purposes, not all residents have the same opportunities to learn and deal with XR. Thus, the authors sought to evaluate the perspectives of an Italian sample of neurosurgical trainees on XR, and to size the impact of these developing technologies on the learning curve of a small group of residents coming from different Italian Institutions.

CUOB (co-existent underactive overactive bladder) syndrome is a clinical entity that embraces storage and emptying symptoms, not strictly correlated with urodynamic findings. We assessed the differences between patients diagnosed with CUOB with/without cystocele. The study group was allocated from 2000 women who underwent urodynamic studies between 2008 and 2016.

Environmental maternal exposures and the risk of premature birth and intrauterine growth restriction: The Generation Gemelli study protocol of newborn exposome.

Background: The study of women exposures and child outcomes occurring in the first 1,000 days of life since conception enhances understanding of the relationships between environmental factors, epigenetic changes, and disease development, extending beyond childhood and spanning the entire lifespan. Generation Gemelli is a recently launched case-control study that enrolls mother-newborns pairs in one of the largest university hospitals in Italy, in order to examine the association between maternal environmental exposures and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and the risk of premature birth. The study will also evaluate the association of maternal exposures and the health and growth of infants and children up to 24 months of age.
