New cases of suspected HFRS (Hantavirus infection) in south-eastern Poland.

Introduction: HFRS--hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, found in Europe, is an acute viral zoonosis due to the hantavirus infection. The disease is characterized by the triad of symptoms: sudden, febrile onset, acute renal failure and haemorrhagic diathesis. The range of hantavirus infections in humans has not been yet established on the territory of Poland.

The factor harmful to the quality of human life--shift-work.

Unlabelled: The system of human activity, which is established by genetics and regulated by outer and inner factors, is associated with many characteristics which maintain the body in the best condition and ensure appropriate life quality.

Objective: To evaluate of life quality among male shift-workers.

Methods: Research based on a self-devised questionnaire, conducted among 700 shift-workers, followed by statistical analysis of the results.

Shape of the lumbo-sacral spine in the sagittal plane in L5-S1 spondylolisthesis.

Background. Analyses of the relations between sagittal radiographic parameters in spondylolisthesis are rare, although the anterior slippage in spondylolisthesis can affect the natural relationship between the inclination of the sacrum and lumbar lordosis. The aim of our study was to determine the inclination of the sacrum, lumbar lordosis, anterior slippage and their mutual correlations of each other in patients with L5/S1 spondylolisthesis.

Synchronized activity of renal neurons and their pattern of discharge in rabbits.

Mechanisms of synchronization of renal neurons were studied by correlating its primary features (peak width and peak height of correlation histograms) with parameters derived from interspike-interval histograms of their resting activity.
