The impact of burnt carcass on the occurrence probability of Chrysomya albiceps and Lucilia ochricornis (Diptera: Calliphoridae) in southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

We evaluated the impact of burnt carcasses on the probability of finding Chrysomya albiceps (Wiedemann, 1819) and Lucilia ochricornis (Wiedemann, 1830) (Diptera: Calliphoridae), and the time it took for them to arrive at the experimental carcasss. These species are biological indicators of the postmortem interval (PMI) in forensic scenarios. Using stillborn pig carcasses, this study analysed how different degrees of burning affect the level of attraction and colonisation by these species.

The care management of frail elderly people must ensure that patients adhere to their personalised care and prevention plan. In order to optimise this adherence, it is essential to take into account the expectations of these aging population. This article presents the results of an analysis carried out by a nursing team regarding the expectations of patients in a day hospital for frail elderly people.

How to Manage Frail Older Adults in the Community? Proposal of a Health Promotion Program Experienced in a City of 16,638 Inhabitants in France.

Background: Health promotion programs could prevent and delay frailty and functional decline. However, in practice, the planning and establishment of such a program is a challenge for health care providers. We report an experimental model of screening and management for frail elderly conducted in Cugnaux, city of 16,638 inhabitants in France, by the Toulouse Gerontopole and the social care service of the Cugnaux City Hall.
