Rationale: Despite the growing scientific interest on mitragynine, the primary alkaloid in kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa), there is a lack of clinical trials in humans.
Objectives: This phase 1 study aimed to evaluate mitragynine's safety profile and acute effects on subjective drug experience, neurocognition, and pain tolerance.
Methods: A placebo-controlled, single-blind, within-subjects study was conducted in two parts.
Introduction: In laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (LIHR), fixation means for meshes (FMMs) are commonly used to reduce hernia recurrence risk. Their use may result in post-operative pain (PP) and may even increase surgical time (ST). Recently, self-gripping meshes (SGMs) have been developed, which leave aside fixation devices; they could potentially reduce PP and even decrease ST.

However, the construct of frailty has only preliminarily been explored in young adults and in relation to psychopathology so far. In the present study we aimed at further elucidating the relationships linking psychopathological phenomena with physical diseases in a sample of young adults.

In this registry-based retrospective study, we used an adapted version of the SFI to determine the prevalence of frailty in patients ≥65 years of age with MM undergoing autoHCT. Out of 5563 patients, 37.
