Purpose Of Review: Common variable immunodeficiency enteropathy (CVID-E) is a noninfectious complication of CVID caused by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Based on literature, a paucity or lack of plasma cells, although not obligatory for diagnosis, is a pathognomonic feature of CVID and more frequent in CVID-E. However, there is no consensus on standardized histopathological analysis of this feature in biopsies.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Narrow band green light (NbGL) has been shown to relieve headache in small numbers of subjects but large-scale real-world assessments are lacking. The goal of this prospective, observational, open-label, real world study was to determine whether treatment with NbGL during the ictal phase of migraine, improves patients' perception of their headache, photophobia, anxiety and same-night sleep.
Methods: The study was conducted in purchasers of the NbGL Lamp in two phases.
Background And Aims: The number of patients with inflammatory bowel disease [IBD], of non-Caucasian descent in Western Europe, is increasing. We aimed to explore the impact of ethnicity and country of birth on IBD phenotype.
Methods: IBD patients treated in the eight University Medical Centers in The Netherlands [Dutch IBD Biobank] were divided into two groups according to their ethnicity: 1] Caucasian patients of Western and Central European descent [CEU]; and 2] patients of non-Caucasian descent [non-CEU].
