Femoral varus-derotation osteotomy in spastic cerebral palsy.

Twenty children (twenty hips) with spastic cerebral palsy underwent femoral varus-derotation osteotomy for which the principal indication was inadequate coverage of the femoral head. Other infrequent indications included pain, valgus angulation of the femoral neck, and dislocation of the hip. The age at surgery ranged from four to fifteen years.

Compression arthrodesis of the ankle following failed ankle arthroplasty using hoffmann® external fixation.

Nine patients with failed Irvine Total Ankle Arthroplasties have been treated by compression arthrodesis with Hoffmann external fixators. Six were men and three were women; ages ranged from 33 to 70 years. An anterior approach was used with application of a Hoffmann external fixator.

Palmar carpal instability secondary to dislocation of scaphoid and lunate: report of case and review of the literature.

An isolated dislocation of scaphoid and lunate is presented. We believe that this injury was responsible for the later development of a palmar carpal instability pattern. Carpal kinematics and pertinent literature are reviewed to support this belief.
