Introduction: Little is known about the differences between rural and urban gamblers and potential vulnerabilities that may be unique to either population. This exploratory study aimed to evaluate differences between rural and urban Pennsylvanians' gambling behaviors and beliefs.

Methods: A dual-frame random digit dial survey was conducted in the US state of Pennsylvania.

Key learnings from the INBUILD trial in patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis.

In a patient with interstitial lung disease (ILD) of known or unknown etiology other than idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) is defined by worsening lung fibrosis on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), decline in lung function, and/or deterioration in symptoms. The INBUILD trial involved 663 patients with PPF who were randomized to receive nintedanib or placebo. The median exposure to trial medication was approximately 19 months.

A practical guide to cross-cultural and multi-sited data collection in the biological and behavioural sciences.

Researchers in the biological and behavioural sciences are increasingly conducting collaborative, multi-sited projects to address how phenomena vary across ecologies. These types of projects, however, pose additional workflow challenges beyond those typically encountered in single-sited projects. Through specific attention to cross-cultural research projects, we highlight four key aspects of multi-sited projects that must be considered during the design phase to ensure success: (1) project and team management; (2) protocol and instrument development; (3) data management and documentation; and (4) equitable and collaborative practices.

Evidence for the factorial validity of measures assessing depressive symptoms in student-athletes is presently absent from the literature. This study examined the best fitting factorial structure and invariance across sexes of the PHQ-9.

Designing an ECG curriculum for residents: Evidence-based approaches to improving resident ECG interpretation skills.

Residents enter their training with variable comfort and competency in electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation. Accurately interpreting an ECG is a fundamental skill in medicine and resident physicians would benefit from a longitudinal, dedicated ECG curriculum as part of their training to enhance interpretation skills and improve patient outcomes. Educators currently employ a wide array of methodologies to teach their trainees proper ECG interpretation skills, with no single modality established as the gold-standard for teaching this crucial skill.
