Radiosurgical irradiation of patients with cerebral AVM on the Gamma knife.

Unlabelled: Arterio-venous malformation (AVM) of the brain are congenital malformations of cerebral vessels in the embryonic period. Standards in AVM treatment is currently applying the endovascular technique, microneurosurgical removal and stereotactic radiation.

Materials And Methods: In the period from 2005 to 2011, in 139 patients with arteriovenous malformations of the brain were treated using "Gamma Knife".

[Peculiarities of generalized periodontitis formation in oil extraction workers].

Studies covered dental state and biologic homeostasis in oil extraction workers (drillers and driller assistants). Findings are high prevalence of parodentium disorders among the examinees. The peripheral blood and mouth lavage appeared to contain excessive amounts of metals (nickel, cadmium).

[The effect of petrochemical and oil-refining enterprises on the sanitary state of the soil cover].

Pollution of soil and agricultural plants was studied in the areas of petrochemical and oil-processing enterprises. Massive soil pollution was found in the adjacent 1-3-km areas. Hydrocarbons and metals from wastes accumulate in onions, radish, potatoes, and apples.

[Division of agricultural areas based on the level of pollution with industrial toxic substances].

Investigation of soil in the region with oil processing industry showed that soil of agricultural fields 10 km around is much polluted and can be used only for growing of technical crops and perennial grasses for seeds. Soil 15-20 km around is less polluted, but also demands limitation in agricultural use, especially on low riverside parts.
