Histologic grade is a key predictor for pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) of appendiceal origin that is used to guide clinical management. However, some tumors demonstrate disease behavior that deviates from their histologic grade. A recent study suggested that TP53, GNAS, and RAS mutation analysis could stratify tumors into distinct molecular groups with different prognosis.

Important quality of life (QoL) questions arise; however, there is limited research on fertility experiences in young women with carcinomatosis or following CRS/HIPEC.
Methods: Retrospective review of a prospective database evaluating women less than 45 ys who underwent CRS/HIPEC at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from January 1998 to 2020.
Phospholipid scramblase 1 (PLSCR1) is an antiviral interferon-stimulated gene (ISG) that has several known anti-influenza functions such as interfering with viral nuclear import, regulating toll-like receptor (TLR) 9 and potentiating the expression of other ISGs. However, the exact mechanisms of anti-flu activity of PLSCR1 in relation to its expression compartment and enzymatic activity, and the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved have not been completely explored. Moreover, only limited animal models have been studied to delineate its role at the tissue level in influenza infections.
