Introduction: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) oligoclonal banding (OCB) analysis aids in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite its clinical importance, there is profound variation in processes, reporting, and interpretation of CSF OCB and associated tests/indices across Canadian laboratories. Additionally, the perception of dental students and faculty toward research in dental education was assessed.
Methods: A survey was distributed to determine the perception towards research in dental education, motivation and barriers for pursuing research and the possibility participants would pursue research-even if the school did not mandate it.
Exposure and cognitive-based therapies are both effective for PTSD, but knowledge of which intervention is best for which patient is lacking. This lack of knowledge is particularly noticeable for group treatments, as no study has examined whether responses to different group therapies are associated with different pretreatment characteristics. Here, we explored whether pretreatment levels of three types of psychological characteristics-PTSD symptom clusters, posttraumatic cognitions, and emotion regulation difficulties-were associated with symptom reduction during group-delivered cognitive versus exposure-based PTSD treatment.

Over 1000 disorders of Hb synthesis and/or structure have been identified and characterized, with phenotypes ranging from having severe clinical manifestations to clinically silent. Various analytical methods are used to phenotypically detect Hb variants.
