[Flowmetrical features of the postoperative wound process in drug addicted patients with chronic odontogenic osteomyelitis of the jaws when using different surgical approaches].

The aim of the work was to study changes in local microhemodynamic indices in drug addicted patients in the course of the treatment of chronic odontogenic osteomyelitis. Assessment of tissue blood flow in gingival mucosa in patients with chronic osteomyelitis was performed using Laser doppler flowmetry. All patients were divided into two groups, namely treatment (n=21) and control (n=19).

Bardet-Biedl syndrome obesity: BBS4 regulates cellular ER stress in early adipogenesis.

Background: Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) is an autosomal recessive ciliopathy, presenting with early obesity onset. The etiology of BBS obesity involves both central and peripheral defects, through mechanisms mostly yet to be deciphered. We previously showed BBS4 expression in adipogenesis, peaking at day 3 of differentiation.

Irisin is a novel secreted myokine, encoded by the fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FNDC5) precursor gene. Irisin plays a role in the female reproductive system in pregnancy and in embryonic development, and is associated with fetal size. It is expressed in the ovary, placenta and neonatal cord serum.

[A new immunoassay of human antibodies to chemical carcinogens].

The study was undertaken to optimize the well known immunoassay of antibodies to chemical carcinogens, designed by J. Chagnaud et al., and examine the specific features of the generation of antibodies (Ab) to benzo[a]pyrene (BP) in patients with lung cancer.
