Background And Aims: Thyromental height test (TMHT) has revealed good potentials for predicting difficult laryngoscopy view (DLV) in non-obese patients, but its accuracy in obese patients is not evident. This study aimed to assess the validity of TMHT as a predictor of DLV in obese surgical patients.
Methods: 105 patients, aged 18-60 years, with body mass index (BMI) >30 kg/m, scheduled for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia with an endotracheal tube inserted using conventional laryngoscope were included.
Postoperative pain in children is usually undertreated because of their inability to complain. While several pain assessment scales have been developed, they have shortcomings such as subjectivity and being observer-dependent. This study aimed to assess the validity of the perfusion index as an objective measure of postoperative pain in children undergoing adenotonsillectomy.

However, that the real percentage of HCWs infected by SARS-CoV-2 in Egypt remains unknown. The researchers conducted the current study to assess seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 IgG among HCWs working in a hospital with no SARS-CoV-2 patients, and to identify the potential factors associated with SARS-CoV-2 IgG seropositivity.

Our primary outcome was arterial oxygenation determined by the PaO and PaO /FiO . The secondary outcomes were lung mechanics (peak airway pressure, airway plateau pressure, dead space, lung compliance, airway resistance) and postoperative complications.

Ultrasound-guided femoral nerve block was performed before general anaesthesia using 25 ml of bupivacaine 0.5% combined with normal saline in the control group, and 25 μg, 50 μg or 75 μg of dexmedetomidine in three treatment groups (n = 15 for each group).
