The prognostic value of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in ischemic stroke remains debated due to cohort variability and treatment heterogeneity across studies. This study evaluates the relationship between admission NLR, stroke severity and 90-day outcomes in patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) undergoing early, successful revascularization. A retrospective multicenter study was conducted with 1082 patients treated with mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke.

Article Synopsis
  • Malondialdehyde (MDA) is identified as a potential predictor of inhospital mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), a condition with limited research on this marker compared to stable angina pectoris.
  • The study involved 556 ACS patients, using leftover plasma samples to analyze various blood markers, including MDA, troponin, and others, in relation to inhospital mortality.
  • Results showed that MDA levels, along with age and creatine, were independent predictors of inhospital mortality, with an optimal MDA cutoff value of >33.1 providing high sensitivity (85%) and specificity (88.17%) for predicting outcomes.

Introduction: While the Thrombite device differs from the Solitare stent with its Helical open-side structure feature, it shows great similarity with its other features. We assessed the Thrombite device's effectiveness and safety in this study.

Materials And Methods: The study was a retrospective analysis of patients who were included in the Turkish Interventional Neurology database and who had mechanical thrombectomy with the Thrombite device as the first choice between January 2020 and January 2023.

Objective: Atrial High Rate Episodes (AHRE) are subclinical atrial tachyarrhythmias detectable by cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). AHREs have been associated with an increased risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF), thromboembolism, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, and mortality. Although recent studies have assessed the value of oxidative stress markers in patients with AF, the relationships between AHRE and oxidative stress markers, including nitric oxide, has not yet been elucidated.

Background:  The relationship between collateral circulation and prognosis after endovascular treatment in anterior circulation strokes has been reported in many studies.

Objective:  In this study, we aimed to compare the predictive power of clinical outcome by comparing five different collateral scores that are frequently used.

Methods:  Among the patients who underwent endovascular treatment in our clinic between November 2019 and December 2021, patients with premorbid mRS < 3, intracranial ICA and/or MCA M1 occlusion, and a pre-procedural multiphase CTA examination were included in the study.
