Plasma clearance of 99mTc-N,N'-bis (1,2-mercaptoacetamido) ethylenediamine (DADS), 99mTc-DTPA and 131I-o-hippuran (OIH) was determined in rabbits from blood-concentration decay curves after single i.v. injection of the compounds.

The results suggest that the complex undergoes elimination primarily via glomerular filtration similarly to Cr-51-EDTA and Tc-99-DTPA. Respective renoscintigraphic curves were obtained.

The optimal pH, incubation time, temperature at labelling and amounts of necessary reagents were determined which permit to obtain Tc-99m-TDSA complex of 97% purity. An appropriate Kit was developed for ex promptu preparation of the complex.

Using micro-autoradiography, the accumulation of activity in various parts of the nephron was observed to concentrate in the cells of the proximal and distal tubuli to a larger extent than in the glomeruli.
