Intensive chemotherapy regimens can result in severe toxicities, particularly those that involve the digestive systems, leading to morbidity and mortality in this group of patients. Acute enterocolitis can be a frequent complication. The authors performed a retrospective review or patients treated at their institution to ascertain the prognostic value of the clinical symptoms and signs of acute enterocolitis, the corresponding abdominal ultrasonographic findings, and the impact of previous chemotherapy.

Methods: A total of 270 outpatients with RA were enrolled in a prospective cross-sectional study. The patients underwent clinical evaluation and application of the HAQ and SF-36 questionnaires.
Background: Aerobic training (AT) and circuit weight training (CWT) improve peak oxygen uptake (VO(2)peak). During CWT the circulatory system is exposed to higher pressure, which could induce left ventricle morphological adaptations, possibly distinct from those derived from aerobic training.
Objective: To compare the effects of aerobic training and CWT upon morphological and functional cardiac adaptations detected by magnetic resonance imaging.

Educational and outreach programs in space sciences have been a major concern since the beginning of the Space Era. Education curricula in Brazil rarely consider topics related to manned and unmanned space flight. This lack in the Brazilian education system has motivated the development of educational tools, used to demonstrate the effects of hyper- and microgravity on test bodies, both gravitational environments commonly found in aerospace missions.
