Irrigation strengthens climate resilience: Long-term evidence from Mali using satellites and surveys.

Agriculture in the Sahel and much of sub-Saharan Africa remains to a large extent rainfed. At the same time, climate change is already causing less predictable rainfall patterns in the region, even as rising temperatures increase the amount of water needed for agricultural production. We assess to what extent irrigation can strengthen the climate resilience of farming communities.

Merging Styrene and Diene Structures to a Cyclic Diene: Anionic Polymerization of 1-Vinylcyclohexene (VCH).

We report the first anionic polymerization of 1-vinylcyclohexene (VCH). This structure may be considered as an intermediate between dienes and styrene. The polymerization of this cyclic 1,2-disubstituted 1,3-diene proceeded quantitatively in cyclohexane at 25 °C with sec-butyllithium as an initiator.

[Biographical Interviews with GDR Psychotherapists - First Hypotheses on their Social Positioning and Professional Action].

Objektive: First results of a socio-historical analysis of the life stories of GDR psychotherapists are presented. Interviews, carried out as part of the project , are intended to enable statements about social and family backgrounds, educational paths and social position. An exemplary case is presented in order to develop hypotheses for the design of professional behavior by GDR psychotherapists.

Methodik: Es wurde eine bibliometrische und netzwerkanalytische Untersuchung von Zitationsbeziehungen sowie eine qualitative Inhaltsanalyse der Rezeption von DDR-Literatur und der thematischen Schwerpunkte der identifizierten wissenschaftlichen Communities in Literaturkorpora aus Ost und West durchgeführt.
