Relationship Between Serum Uromodulin as a Marker of Kidney Damage and Metabolic Status in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease of Non-Diabetic Etiology.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is often associated with dyslipidemia, marked by lipid abnormalities that can worsen kidney function and increase cardiovascular risk. A promising biomarker for evaluating kidney function and metabolic status in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is serum uromodulin (sUmod). This study sought to further investigate the relationship between sUmod levels and metabolic status in non-diabetic CKD patients.

Multimodal Care of a Patient With Functional Movement Disorders Following a Motor Vehicle Accident: A Case Report.

Objective: The purpose of this case report was to describe the multimodal care of a patient with the sudden onset of truncal tremors.

Clinical Features: A 30-year-old female patient presented for chiropractic care with truncal tremors following a motor vehicle accident. Initial outcome measures included the Neck Disability Index (50%) and Oswestry Disability Index (62).

Assessment of Resisted Trunk Rotation Exercise With and Without Double-Pulse Breathing Technique on Hockey Shot Velocity: A Pilot Study.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of a study to measure the effect of resisted band antirotation exercises with the use of a double-pulse (DP) breathing exercise on slapshot and snap shot velocity and subjective assessment of performance.

Methods: Ten participants between 20 and 30 years of age who play ice hockey were recruited. The study was conducted over 3 weeks, and participants were randomized into 2 groups; group 1: resisted band antirotations with DP (a shout used in martial arts) exercises, and group 2: resisted band antirotations alone.

Evaluating the Correlation and Performance of PROMIS to SRS Questionnaires in Adult and Pediatric Spinal Deformity Patients.

Study Design: Retrospective cross-sectional cohort analysis.

Objectives: 1) To assess the correlation of Patient-Reported Outcomes Management Information System (PROMIS) domains with SRS-22r/SRS-30 domains in all scoliosis patients; 2) to assess the correlation of PROMIS domains with SRS-30 domains in adult scoliosis patients; 3) to assess the correlation of PROMIS domains with SRS-22r/SRS-30 domains in pediatric scoliosis patients; and 4) to assess ceiling and floor effects of PROMIS and SRS-22r/SRS-30 domains.

Summary Of Background Data: Studies evaluating correlations between PROMIS and a number of legacy PRO tools have been conducted.

An Evaluation of PROMIS in Patients With Primary or Metastatic Spine Tumors.

Study Design: Retrospective evaluation of prospectively collected data.

Objective: In spine tumor patients: i) to assess the correlation of Patient-reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) physical function (PF), pain interference (PI), and Depression scores with Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Neck Disability Index (NDI) scores; and ii) to assess ceiling and floor effects of PROMIS PF, PI, and Depression domains and the ODI/NDI.
