Purpose: Spastic paraplegia, intellectual disability, nystagmus, and obesity syndrome (SINO) is a rare autosomal dominant condition caused by heterozygous variants in KIDINS220. A total of 12 individuals are reported, comprising 8 with SINO and 4 with an autosomal recessive condition attributed to biallelic KIDINS220 variants.
Methods: In our international cohort, we have included 14 individuals, carrying 13 novel pathogenic KIDINS220 variants in heterozygous form.
This was an exploratory, prospective, longitudinal, cohort study that aimed to establish "healthy" reference levels related to growth parameters and glucose metabolites in preterm infants. This was conducted to further investigate growth and metabolic disturbances potentially related to neonatal illness. The study sample consisted of 108 preterm infants born before 32 weeks in 2018-2019 in the Capital Region of Denmark.

- - Results showed that 90% of neonates with probable infection successfully switched to oral therapy, with no readmissions due to infection and a shorter average hospital stay compared to those on intravenous therapy.
- - Although oral therapy proved safe and beneficial for easing the treatment process, the overall use of antibiotics did not increase after implementing switch therapy.
