Primary malignant melanoma of the lung; a case report and literature review.

Primary pulmonary malignant melanoma is an extremely rare non-epithelial malignancy. Literature is merely limited to a few anecdotal case reports. Herein we present a case of a 74-year-old female who was diagnosed with primary malignant melanoma of the lung.

Measurement of angle of progression by trans perineal-ultrasound in labour to predict mode of delivery in nulliparous women.

Objective: The objective of the study was to assess whether the measurement of the angle of progression in nulliparous women in labour can predict the mode of delivery.

Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi Medical University from 16 February to 25 March 2024. Nulliparous pregnant women in the active first stage of labour with singleton pregnancy and cephalic presentation were included in the study after taking informed consent.

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in patients with type 2 diabetes and myocardial infarction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have shown benefits in improving cardiovascular (CV) outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF) and may mitigate symptom progression in myocardial infarction (MI). However, their effectiveness in patients with type 2 diabetes and MI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is unclear.

Methods: To identify eligible studies, a comprehensive search of electronic databases, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus and Embase, was conducted from inception until May 2024.

Optimization of the extraction methods and evaluation of the hypoglycemic effect of extracts on artificially induced diabetic mice.

Synthetic antidiabetic drugs are often associated with various adverse side effects, including hypoglycemia, nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, headaches, and even liver damage. In contrast, plant-derived natural antidiabetic bioactive compounds typically exhibit lower toxicity and fewer side effects and have been reported to aid effectively in diabetes management. These plant extracts regulate diabetes by restoring pancreatic function, enhancing insulin secretion, inhibiting intestinal glucose absorption, and facilitating insulin dependent metabolism.

Therapeutic use of music listening in patients undergoing invasive coronary procedures: A meta-analysis.

Background: Listening to music has been shown to reduce pain and anxiety before, during, and after invasive coronary procedures.

Aim: To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the effect of therapeutic use of music on both, perioperative and postoperative outcomes of invasive coronary procedures.

Methods: An exhaustive literature search of 3 electronic databases (MEDLINE, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL) was conducted from inception until 10 December 2023.
