Long-term Outcomes of PreserFlo MicroShunt versus XEN45 Gel Stent in Open-Angle Glaucoma.

Purpose: To compare two glaucoma drainage devices with subconjunctival filtration (MicroShunt and XEN) for open-angle glaucoma (OAG), with respect to effectiveness and safety.

Patients And Methods: This is a single center, retrospective, interventional study. In total, 106 eyes of 95 patients with OAG underwent surgery.

One-Year Outcomes of Preserflo MicroShunt Implantation versus Trabeculectomy for Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma.

This retrospective, single-center study evaluates the safety and efficacy of Preserflo MicroShunt (MicroShunt) implantations compared to trabeculectomies (TETs) in patients diagnosed with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEXG). A total of 31 eyes from 28 patients received a MicroShunt implantation, and 29 eyes from 26 patients received a TET. Surgical success was defined as an intraocular pressure (IOP) between 5 mmHg and 17 mmHg at the end of the follow-up period, no need for surgical revisions or secondary glaucoma surgery, and no loss of light perception.

[Phototherapeutic keratectomy for recurrent corneal erosion of various epithelial origins: influence of depth of ablation on pachymetry and refraction].

Background: Phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) is an established treatment method for patients suffering from either genetic corneal dystrophy or recurrent corneal erosion (RCE) without underlying basement membrane dystrophy, often caused by trauma.

Objective: This study aimed to describe the changes in manifest subjective refraction and pachymetry after PTK treatment in patients suffering from epithelial basement membrane dystrophy (EBMD) and traumatic or atraumatic RCE without underlying EBMD.

Material And Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center study performed at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Ludwig-Maximilians University (Munich).
