Gemini surfactants are ideal systems to study a wide range of rheological behaviours in soft matter, showing fascinating analogies with living polymers and polyelectrolytes. By only changing the concentration, the shear viscosity can vary by 7 orders of magnitude in the bulk when transitioning through the semidilute regime. In order to elucidate on the intrinsic shear viscosity profile at the interface in soft matter systems manifesting various concentration regimes and morphological transitions, we performed microrheology and adsorption experiments under a wide range of experimental conditions.

The behaviour of Cd, Zn and Pb from pedogenetic minerals and from dusts from mining and smelting activities, added to two soils under different agricultural management (arable and grassland) was examined after soil flooding for 1, 7 and 30 days with waters of increasing salinities (0, 4.37, 8.

The Italian Society of Pediatric Surgery performed a national survey to study the current management variability among centers, trying to define national guidelines and a standardized approach of children with congenital lung malformations.
Methods: Following a National Society approval, an electronic survey including 35 items on post-natal management was designed, focusing on surgical, anesthesiology, radiology and pneumology aspects.
Accurately mapping the temperature during ablation is crucial for improving clinical outcomes. While various sensor configurations have been suggested in the literature, depending on the sensors' type, number, and size, a comprehensive understanding of optimizing these parameters for precise temperature reconstruction is still lacking. This study addresses this gap by introducing a tool based on a theoretical model to optimize the placement of fiber Bragg grating sensors (FBG) within the organ undergoing ablation.

The removal of copper (Cu) in soils by green technology is less treated with urgency, as it is a plant micronutrient. We examined the efficiency of Cu shoot accumulation by herbaceous plants in Cu-contaminated and non-contaminated soils in Trhové Dusniky and Podles, respectively, in the Czech Republic. The total soil Cu content of 81 mg kg in Trhové Dusniky indicated a slight contamination level compared to 50 mg kg, the permissible value by WHO, and < 35 in Podlesí, representing a clean environment.
