Importance: Although differences in the prevalence of key cancer-specific somatic mutations as a function of genetic ancestry among patients with cancer has been well-established, few studies have addressed the practical clinical implications of these differences for the growing number of biomarker-driven treatments.
Objective: To determine if the approval of precision oncology therapies has benefited patients with cancer from various ancestral backgrounds equally over time.
Design, Setting, And Participants: A retrospective analysis of samples from patients with solid cancers who underwent clinical sequencing using the integrated mutation profiling of actionable cancer targets (MSK-IMPACT) assay between January 2014 and December 2022 was carried out.
This paper and the accompanying video present a novel technique developed by the senior author to reliably control nasal tip projection and rotation with a midline cartilage graft that is nonbulky; easily reproducible; and conceptually intuitive. The saddle projection graft is a cartilage graft ∼5 by 15 mm in size fashioned from the nasal septum. A 15 blade is used to create a sagittal groove in the cartilage, which is then inset onto the anterior septal angle with the septum fitting within the sagittal groove.

The Dieffenbach flap, a folded postauricular flap, offers a viable flap for reconstruction of larger ear defects. Although the technique has been well defined in previous literature, there are few studies evaluating its outcomes and complications.

However, its impact on auricle projection and length after division and inset is not well-documented. This study evaluates auricle projection and length following defect repair with the Dieffenbach flap, comparing results to the nonoperative ear.

Here, we report a case of a 19-year-old female who exhibited atypical manifestations, including lower abdominal pain and associated hematochezia. Despite inconclusive findings from imaging modalities and laboratory investigations, persistent pain prompted exploratory laparotomy, revealing appendicitis.
