Background: Robotic surgery may have shown advantages over conventional laparoscopic surgery, but the da Vinci SP system, which utilizes a single incision, has had limited use in gastric cancer surgery. This study aims to evaluate the short-term outcomes of a novel hybrid technique, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery (MILAR), with the da Vinci SP system for gastric cancer.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study reviewed 23 consecutive patients who underwent gastrectomy for gastric cancer using the MILAR technique with the da Vinci SP system between May and October 2024.

Automated chest CT three-dimensional quantification of body composition: adipose tissue and paravertebral muscle.

This retrospective study developed an automated algorithm for 3D segmentation of adipose tissue and paravertebral muscle on chest CT using artificial intelligence (AI) and assessed its feasibility. The study included patients from the Boston Lung Cancer Study (2000-2011). For adipose tissue quantification, 77 patients were included, while 245 were used for muscle quantification.

It is unclear whether the impact of prereperfusion unloading on improving survival is sustained throughout all periods from the onset in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. This study is a post hoc analysis of the J-PVAD registry. In all patients registered in J-PVAD between February 2020 and December 2021, patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction complicated with cardiogenic shock and treated with Impella support alone were selected.

A case of pulmonary vein reconnection after long-term success of pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation.

We describe a case where right superior pulmonary vein was not reconnected at the beginning of the third radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) for atrial fibrillation but was reconnected at the beginning of the fourth RFCA. This is a case of pulmonary vein reconnection in the chronic phase after successful pulmonary vein isolation.
