Eco-friendly and beneficial nature algae make it prominent in our earth as well as for human life. In recent decades, microalgal applications is sought in varied fields from the remediation of wastes to the production of pharmaceutical products. Still, more extensive research on bioprospecting should to conducted to get the genus-specific or species-specific applications of microalgae with high efficiency.

On the identity of the banded gourami Trichogaster fasciata with notes on the taxonomic status of Trichopodus bejeus (Teleostei: Perciformes: Osphronemidae).

Based on its original description and putative topotypes, the identity of the banded gourami Trichogaster fasciata is resolved. Trichogaster lalia is a synonym of T. fasciata, and the name Trichogaster bejeus is applied to the species hitherto identified as T.

Definitive treatment of colon injuries: a prospective study.

The results of a prospective protocol for penetrating injuries of the colon in 252 patients are presented. The protocol emphasized definitive management of the injury by repair, resection and anastomosis or exteriorized repair. Colostomy was reserved for left colon injuries requiring resection or for delayed treatment.

Open management of the posttraumatic septic abdomen.

Thirteen patients with abdominal trauma who developed abdominal sepsis resistant to conventional methods of reexploration and drainage were managed by an open method. Eleven of these patients had multiorgan failure. The extent of anatomic and physiologic injury was defined by Abdominal Trauma Index and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) scores, respectively.
