OF WHAT IS NEW/DIFFERENT Updates since the 2022 ISPAD guidelines on this topic include: • Diagnostic algorithm for youth with new onset type 2 diabetes (T2D). • Algorithms and tables for treatment, management, and assessment of co-morbidities and complications. • Recommendations on recently approved pharmacologic therapies for the treatment of youth-onset T2D and management strategies.

Hospitalization is an opportunity to initiate or continue evidence-based treatment to reduce risk in individuals with T2D and acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
Objective: To determine patterns of evidence-based medication use during the period of transition from admission to discharge after hospitalization for MI or coronary revascularization among individuals with T2D and ACS.
Background: Setmelanotide, a melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) agonist, has been shown to reduce hunger and weight in patients aged 6 years and older with proopiomelanocortin (POMC) deficiency (including biallelic variants in proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 1 [PCSK1]), leptin receptor (LEPR) deficiency, or Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). No approved therapies for patients younger than 6 years old currently exist. The phase 3, open-label VENTURE trial aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of setmelanotide in patients aged 2-5 years with POMC or LEPR deficiency or BBS.

This is however complicated by the highly repetitive nature of these sequences in genomes, requiring the deployment of several problem-specific tools as well as the curation of appropriate genome annotations. This pipeline aims to make the analysis of TE sequences and their expression more generally accessible.
