Sex is an often overlooked, yet compulsory, biological variable when performing biomedical research. Periodontitis is a common yet progressively debilitating chronic inflammatory disorder affecting the tissues supporting teeth that ultimately leads to tooth loss if left untreated. The incidence of periodontitis is sex biased, with increased prevalence in males compared with females but with unknown etiology.

This experimental study aimed to evaluate the potential ability of to counteract the action of a demineralizing agent on dental enamel morphology and mineral composition in vitro.
Methods: The sample consisted of 12 healthy human posterior teeth.
Objective: There is growing interest in the early identification of patients with axial PsA (axPsA). We aimed to evaluate whether a dermatology-based screening strategy could help to identify axPsA patients.
Methods: The dermatologist-centred screening (DCS) questionnaire was administrated by dermatologists to consecutive patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria [(i) age ≥18 years and (ii) clinical diagnosis of psoriasis made by a dermatologist] to identify patients eligible (affirmative answers 1-3c of the DCS) for rheumatological evaluation.
