Vitamin D-Related Risk Factors for Maternal Morbidity during Pregnancy: A Systematic Review.

Vitamin D has well-defined classical functions related to metabolism and bone health but also has non-classical effects that may influence pregnancy. Maternal morbidity remains a significant health care concern worldwide, despite efforts to improve maternal health. Nutritional deficiencies of vitamin D during pregnancy are related to adverse pregnancy outcomes, but the evidence base is difficult to navigate.

[Declared experiences of risky sexual behaviors in relation to alcohol consumption in the first year of college.].

Objective: In college students, higher risk alcohol consumption (drunkenness and binge drinking-BD) has negative consequences on their development and and probably facilitates risk sexual behaviors. The objective was to study if risky sexual behaviors when consuming alcohol (RSBA) are associated with higher risk consumption.

Methods: Cross-sectional multicenter study with UniHcos Project, 1 year university students from 11 universities in Spain, academic years 2011-2012 to 2017-2018 data.

Menstrual Problems and Lifestyle among Spanish University Women.

Menstrual problems affect many young women worldwide, conditioning both their academic performance and quality of life. This study sought to analyse the prevalence of menstrual problems and their possible relationship with lifestyle among Spanish university women, as part of a research project (UniHcos Project) involving a cohort of 11 Spanish universities with 7208 university students. A descriptive analysis was performed using the bivariate chi-square test and the Student's -test together with a binary logistic regression, in which the dependent variable was 'suffering from menstrual problems'.

Modeling residential water demand: An approach based on household demand systems.

Most estimations of residential water demand are based on single-equation models that rely on assumptions that are most often not compatible with the fundamental principles of consumer theory. In this paper, we relax these assumptions by using a more flexible system of demand estimation, the Quadratic Almost Ideal Demand System (QUAIDS) (Banks et al., 1997) and reveal the existence in our sample of substitution and complementary patterns as well as non-linearities in Engel curves for water consumption.

Prevalence of colorectal disease in Enterococcus faecalis infective endocarditis: results of an observational multicenter study.

Introduction And Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of colorectal disease in Enterococcus faecalis infective endocarditis (EFIE) patients.

Methods: An observational, retrospective, multicenter study was performed at 4 referral centers. From the moment that a colonoscopy was systematically performed in EFIE in each participating hospital until October 2018, we included all consecutive episodes of definite EFIE in adult patients.
