Characteristics and Associated Risk Factors of Broad Ligament Hernia: A Systematic Review.

The broad ligament, a double-layered peritoneum attaching the lateral uterus to the pelvic sidewall, plays a vital role in pelvic anatomy. Small bowel herniation through a defect in the broad ligament, known as broad ligament herniation, involving protrusion of viscera through defects in this ligament, is rare but can lead to severe complications. This systematic review aims to evaluate the presentation, diagnosis, management, and factors associated with broad ligament herniation.

Brain-derived tau oligomer polymorphs: distinct aggregations, stability profiles, and biological activities.

Aggregation of microtubule-associated tau protein is a distinct hallmark of several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Tau oligomers are suggested to be the primary neurotoxic species that initiate aggregation and propagate prion-like structures. Furthermore, different diseases are shown to have distinct structural characteristics of aggregated tau, denoted as polymorphs.

Venetoclax therapy in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia patients relapsed after allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) remains an option for young and fit chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) patients with high-risk disease features. However, allotransplanted patients are generally excluded from clinical trials, making data regarding the use of venetoclax after alloHSCT extremely rare. We report data from 7 CLL patients who received venetoclax after alloHSCT among 53 Italian centers.
