Fortification of semen extender with mifepristone improves the cryo-survival of cattle spermatozoa.

Background: Progesterone, which is present in the semen extender as a component of egg yolk is a potential inducer of capacitation in spermatozoa during cryopreservation. An anti-progesterone component in the extender may protect the spermatozoa from being capacitated and pre-acrosome reacted during cryopreservation. It may lead to better quality of post-thaw sperm population for improved conception.

Polymer Chain Modification via HAT Chemistry and Its Application in Graft Copolymer Synthesis.

Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) chemistry has emerged as a powerful tool for selective molecular functionalization, with significant applications in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. More recently, HAT has been explored in polymer chemistry as a versatile strategy for introducing targeted functional groups onto polymer chains, enabling precise control over properties such as solubility and mechanical strength. This study investigates the use of HAT to synthesize reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agents (or chain transfer agents, CTAs) by modifying various substrates, including toluene, ethyl acetate, and dioxane, in the presence of bis(dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonyl) disulfide or bis(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazol-1-ylthiocarbonyl) disulfide.

Vonoprazan in Management of Refractory Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: An Indian Expert Group Consensus Statements.

Background: Approximately, 40% of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) patients experience insufficient symptom relief from proton-pump inhibitors (PPI), resulting in PPI-refractory GERD (rGERD).

Objective: To review the existing literature and develop an Indian expert group consensus statement on the place of vonoprazan in the management of rGERD.

Materials And Methods: A panel of 35 leading Indian gastroenterologists extensively reviewed the literature to develop consensus statements for the management of rGERD in Indian patients, with a focus on the newly available potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), vonoprazan.

Agreement between CES-D and CIDI-SF scales of depression among older adults: a cross-sectional comparative study based on the longitudinal aging study in India, 2017-19.

Background: Understanding the differences between various instruments for assessing depression will help researchers and health practitioners to choose a more appropriate tool and develop a framework to enhance resilience to mental health problems in the older population. The current study aimed to compare the 10-item Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression (CES-D) scale with the Composite International Diagnostic Interview-Short Form (CIDI-SF) for measuring depressive symptoms in older Indians.

Methods: Data came from the first wave of the Longitudinal Aging Study in India (LASI) which was conducted during 2017-19.

Lensless Fourier transform multiplexed digital holography.

In this work, a new framework of lensless Fourier transform multiplexed digital holography (LFTMDH) is proposed, leveraging the double field of view (FoV) in a single-shot recording. The proof-of-concept system with double FoV is realized by adopting a spatially multiplexing technique by inserting a cube beam splitter in the object path. The cube beam splitter divides the object beam into two FoVs with different object information.
