Synthesis of Lead(II) Carbonate-Containing Nanoparticles Using Ultrasonication or Microwave Irradiation.

We report on the synthesis of lead(II) carbonate-containing nanoparticles using the polyol process under high-energy ultrasound or microwave irradiation as alternate energization methods. Five carbonate source precursors are used in the reaction, and the precipitation reactions generate four different crystal products, depending on the precursor. More alkaline precursors produce the hydroxy-carbonate structures (abellaite, or its potassium analog, and hydrocerussite), while the less alkaline precursors produce the simple carbonate structure (cerussite).

Minimally Invasive Approaches to Spinal Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak Repair: Current Strategies and a Novel Technique.

Spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks can be caused by tears in the dura and are challenging to treat. Traditional methods of treating spinal CSF leakage include nonsurgical management, epidural blood patches (EBP), and direct surgical repair. Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is rapidly progressing within neurosurgery due to its advantages for patient safety and comfort.

Connecting the experiences of persons with disabilities and social workers in Nigerian care institutions regarding COVID-19 vaccine uptake: a qualitative descriptive-interpretive design.

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, persons with disabilities (PWDs) have faced additional disadvantages that have exacerbated their physical and mental health challenges. In Nigeria, where cultural, religious, and informational barriers persist, understanding these factors is critical for improving health interventions, including vaccine uptake among PWDs.

Methods: This study employed a qualitative descriptive-interpretive design to explore the perceptions of PWDs regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccine, alongside social workers' views on their roles in facilitating vaccine uptake.

Clinical and Radiological Presentation of Patients with Smear Positive Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

Chest X-ray is an important diagnostic aid frequently used alongside microscopic smear of sputum for the confirmation of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). However, there is a dearth of literature investigating the clinical and radiological pattern of sputum positive pulmonary TB among adults in Bangladesh. The current study explored these patterns in presentation.
