- This study evaluates the effectiveness of wheal size and skin index (SI) from skin-prick tests in predicting cow's milk allergy (CMA) outcomes in children.
- Results showed that larger wheal sizes and higher SIs were linked to positive oral provocation test results, and half of the patients were likely to outgrow their CMA by age 5.
- The findings suggest that a wheal diameter of 8 mm or an SI of 1.0 can be useful indicators for diagnosing CMA and predicting its natural outgrowth.
Endocrine cell carcinoma (ECC) of the stomach is a rare pathological type with a poor outcome. Standard chemotherapy has not yet been established. We experienced a case of partial response in the liver metastasis from the gastric ECC treated with TS-1.

The tumor was located at the lower edge of the left lobe of the liver, measured 3 x 2 x 2 cm, and appeared solid. Histologically, it consisted of abundant blood vessels of varying caliber, mature fat cells, and round, spindle-shaped or epithelioid interstitial cells.

The clinical efficacy was excellent in 4 cases, good in 7, fair in 5, poor in 3 and unknown in 5 with the effective rate of 57.9%.
