The main cause of sperm chromatin damage is oxidative stress related to embryo development failure and adult infertility in mammals and also avian. Oxidative stress results in lipid peroxidation (LPO) causing cell damage. Lipid peroxidation is the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in biological systems and causes changes in the physical structure and characteristics of the cell membrane.

Presented liquid phase separator with integrated chromatographic column enables the separation and treatment of a solvent extract layer after the extraction of organic compounds from water in one simple run in a single piece of glassware. The separator has been successfully applied for the determination of hydrocarbon oil index in waters.

A potential probe for examining opiate-receptor interactions: model compound study of dynamic effects on 15N INEPT enhancements.

Model systems were chosen in an attempt to mimic the proton exchange environment of an agonist nitrogen in an opiate-receptor interaction. The two model systems studied were an ammonium: 18-crown-6 ether complex and a quinuclidine-trifluoroacetic acid ion pair. Each system was examined for their effects on 15N NMR INEPT enhancements.
