Acute liver failure (ALF) is characterized by rapid hepatic dysfunction, primarily caused by drug-induced hepatotoxicity. Due to the lack of satisfactory treatment options, ALF remains a fatal clinical disease, representing a grand challenge in global health. For the drug repositioning to ALF of mesalamine, which is clinically approved for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), we propose a supramolecular prodrug nanoassembly (SPNs).

Development of Test Cases for Automated Vehicle Driving Safety Assessment Using Driving Trajectories.

For consumers to have confidence in the safety of automated vehicles (AVs), AVs must be assessed using systematically developed scenarios to verify driving safety and reliability. In particular, verification using scenarios has been widely performed for the assessment and certification of AVs. This study aims to develop test cases based on driving trajectories to assess the driving safety of AVs.

Autophagy deficiency protects against ocular hypertension and glaucoma.

Glaucoma encompasses a spectrum of disorders characterized by the chronic degeneration of retinal ganglion cell (RGC) axons and the progressive loss of RGCs, resulting in visual impairment. In this study, we investigated the effect of autophagy deficiency on two glaucoma hypertensive models, the DBA/2J spontaneous glaucoma model, and the TGFβ2 (transforming growth factor β2) chronic ocular hypertensive model. For this, we used the and DBA/2J- mice, this latter generated in our laboratory via CRISPR/Cas9 technology, which display impaired autophagy.

Clinical Implications of the Obstructive Pattern on Chest Radiography in Children Aged 3-59 Months With Severe Lower Respiratory Tract Infections.

Objectives: To investigate the clinical implications of the obstructive pattern on plain chest radiography, defined as peribronchial cuffing or hyperinflation, in young children with severe lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs).

Methods: We reviewed all children aged 3‒59 months with LRTIs who underwent radiography and polymerase chain reaction in a Korean emergency department from 2016 through 2020. The radiographs were read as consolidation, peribronchial cuffing, or hyperinflation, with each interrater reliability computed.

This study aimed to explore the enabling context of the HIV care continuum as perceived by people living with HIV and healthcare professionals. This qualitative study involved in-depth individual interviews with eight people living with HIV and group interviews with seven nurses and physicians.
