In chronic kidney disease (CKD), hyperuricemia is a common phenomenon, presumably due to reduced renal clearance of uric acid. This study investigated the effect of xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitors allopurinol and febuxostat to prevent oxidative stress in the kidney of two-kidney, one-clip (2K1C) rats. In this investigation, 2K1C rats were used as an experimental animal model for kidney dysfunction.

Background: While the importance of women's participation in household decision making in enhancing access to healthcare services is widely acknowledged, limited evidence exists on the link between women's participation in household decision making and skilled birth attendants (SBA) supervised delivery. This study aims to fill this gap by examining the effects of women's participation in household decision making on SBA supervised delivery in Bangladesh.

Methods: Data of 3607 mothers who had given birth within 2 years of the survey date were extracted from the 2022 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) and analyzed.

Background: During the 2023-dengue outbreak in Bangladesh, a diagnostic evaluation study was conducted to investigate concurrent Zika virus (ZIKV) and dengue virus (DENV) transmission in Dhaka in 2023.

Aims: The study explored to simultaneously detect the presence of ZIKV, DENV, and/or CHIKV while considering relevant clinical and epidemiological risk factors, using a real-time multiplex RT-PCR system. Following this, it was planned to sequence the selected samples to identify genetic variations of the ZIKV infections within the population.

In this study, three pyridine- and four thiophene-containing chalcone derivatives were synthesized via Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction, where five derivatives were new. Different spectral analyses (IR, H NMR, HRMS) clarified the structures and these proposed compounds were screened for antimicrobial activity by the agar disc diffusion technique. Compound was conspicuously active against most of the bacterial and fungal strains.

Cypermethrin is a pyrethroid showing nephrotoxicity by generating ROS-impaired oxidative stress and changes in inflammatory and apoptotic markers. The harmful consequences are intended to be mitigated by the imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant possessions of nanocurcumin (NC) with improved bioavailability ameliorate Cyp toxicity in rat kidneys.
