Objectives: To explore the global epidemiological trends in the prevalence and mortality due to mpox in various regions worldwide.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study the data about mpox outbreak were recorded by the "World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and GSAID" from August 2023 to August 2024, analyzing the epidemiological trends from different countries worldwide.

Results: The total number of mpox cases has reached 99,518 (95,196 cases from 115 countries that have not historically reported mpox; and 4,322 cases from 07 states that have traditionally reported mpox), from a total of 122 countries.

Article Synopsis
  • * A total of 18 carbapenemase variants were identified, predominantly in ST131 clades A and C, with the most common variants being detected in 14 and 12 countries, respectively.
  • * The rise in isolates carrying these genes since 2021 highlights a significant public health threat posed by the high-risk ST131 lineage.

Paediatric patients with congenital heart disease often undergo cardiac catheterisation procedures and are exposed to considerable ionising radiation early in life. This study aimed to develop a method for estimating the dose area product () from paediatric cardiac catheterisation procedures (1975-1989) at a national centre for paediatric cardiology and to evaluate trends inand exposure parameters until 2021. Data from 2200 catheterisation procedures on 1685 patients (1975-1989) and 4184 procedures on 2139 patients (2000-2021) under 18 years of age were retrospectively collected.

Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) prognosis varies significantly due to the biological and clinical heterogeneity. High-risk stage T1-G3, comprising 15-20% of NMIBCs, involves the lamina propria and is associated with higher rates of recurrence, progression, and cancer-specific mortality. In the present study, we have evaluated the enumeration of tumour-derived extracellular vesicles (tdEVs) and circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in high-risk NMIBC patients and their correlation with survival outcomes such as time to progression (TTP), and cancer-specific survival (CSS).

Introduction: Strategies beyond pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in persistent atrial fibrillation (persAF) are debated. A novel mapping tool provides algorithmic detection of ablation targets based on electrogram (EGM) properties specific to stable localized rotational activations.

Methods: The mapping tool was used on 31 patients (20 de novo).
