Despite its importance, the determination of the degree of cure of melamine-based laminates often relies on tests with limited accuracy and validity. Undercured surfaces may suffer insufficient resistance to scratching and heat as well as substandard surface quality. Overcured melamine surfaces tend to crack and entail the inefficient utilization of the press-the panels could have been pressed for a shorter time.

Prediction of diagnosis and diastolic filling pressure by AI-enhanced cardiac MRI: a modelling study of hospital data.

Background: With increasing numbers of patients and novel drugs for distinct causes of systolic and diastolic heart failure, automated assessment of cardiac function is important. We aimed to provide a non-invasive method to predict diagnosis of patients undergoing cardiac MRI (cMRI) and to obtain left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP).

Methods: For this modelling study, patients who had undergone cardiac catheterisation at University Hospital Heidelberg (Heidelberg, Germany) between July 15, 2004 and March 16, 2023, were identified, as were individual left ventricular pressure measurements.

Gas-Phase Oxidation of Atmospherically Relevant Unsaturated Hydrocarbons by Acyl Peroxy Radicals.

This study assesses the atmospheric impact of reactions between unsaturated hydrocarbons such as isoprene and monoterpenes and peroxy radicals containing various functional groups. We find that reactions between alkenes and acyl peroxy radicals have reaction rates high enough to be feasible in the atmosphere and lead to high molar mass accretion products. Moreover, the reaction between unsaturated hydrocarbons and acyl peroxy radicals leads to an alkyl radical, to which molecular oxygen rapidly adds.
