Patients Facing Large Language Models in Oncology: A Narrative Review.

The integration of large language models (LLMs) into oncology is transforming patients' journeys through education, diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and follow-up. This review examines the current landscape, potential benefits, and associated ethical and regulatory considerations of the application of LLMs for patients in the oncologic domain.

Early vascular aging in chronic kidney disease: focus on microvascular maintenance, senescence signature and potential therapeutics.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a strong risk factor for cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. We hypothesized that a senescent phenotype instigated by uremic toxins could account for early vascular aging (EVA) and vascular dysfunctions of microvasculature in end stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients which ultimately lead to increased cardiovascular complication. To test this hypothesis, we utilized both in vivo, and ex vivo approaches to study endothelial and smooth muscle function and structure, and characterized markers related to EVA in 82 ESKD patients (eGFR <15 ml/min) and 70 non-CKD controls.

Fatty liver disease along Cushing's syndrome evolution.

Introduction: The clinical manifestations of Cushing's syndrome are variable, but an important number of patients present a metabolic syndrome, strongly associated with hepatic steatosis. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) at the diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome.

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective study at Angers Hospital (France) between 2010 and 2020.

Recognition patterns of acute kidney injury in hospitalized patients.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) during hospitalization is associated with increased complications and mortality. Despite efforts to standardize AKI management, its recognition in clinical practice is limited.

Methods: To assess and characterize different patterns of AKI diagnosis, we collected clinical data, serum creatinine (sCr) levels, comorbidities and outcomes from adult patients using the Hospital Discharge Form (HDF).
