[Determination of reference values of CTx and NMID-Osteocalcin and their association with osteoporosis in postmenopausal chilean women].

Introduction: Bone densitometry (BD) has high specificity in the osteoporosis diagnosis but suboptimal sensitivity to estimate fracture risk. It was proposed that bone turnover markers (BTM) could be included in the osteoporosis risk algorithm, although the extent of its association is unknown. One recommended BTM to assess bone resorption is Beta-Cross Laps (B-CTx), while a BTM to assess bone formation is osteocalcin.

Synthesis and characterization of VO-GaO photocatalysts and their application on the photocatalytic reduction of CO.

The photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide (CO) to produce methanol (CHOH) is a promising strategy for producing clean energy. The catalyst, the aqueous medium, and the UV light are key parameters for the formation of the most relevant pair (e/h) and the specific selectivity towards the desired product (methanol). The use of GaO and VO in the photocatalytic reduction of CO to produce methanol has been little studied.

Primary germinoma of the medulla oblongata: illustrative case.

Background: Primary central nervous system germinomas of the medulla oblongata are extremely rare and usually have been found in young female Asian patients. The authors present an illustrative case of a patient who presented with severe medullary and posterior cord syndrome, the first South American case published to date, to the authors' knowledge.

Observations: Initially, the radiological differential diagnosis did not include this entity.

Sexual Health Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob-Gyn) Residencies-A Resident Physician Survey.

Background: Many women will experience a sexual health concern and present to their Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob-Gyn) care provider, yet a large portion of graduating Ob-Gyn resident physicians in the United States may not feel comfortable helping patients with some sexual health issues.
