SCD patients are predisposed to infections due to immune deficiency, abdominal symptoms like dyspepsia and recurrent abdominal pain have been associated with infection.

We derive the probability representation of even and odd cat states of two and three qubits. These states are even and odd superpositions of spin-1/2 eigenstates corresponding to two opposite directions along the axis. The probability representation of even and odd cat states of an oscillating spin-1/2 particle is also discussed.

Monitoring of sugars adsorption breakthrough curves with online Raman spectroscopy.

We introduce a new application for online Raman spectroscopy to monitor adsorption breakthrough curves of a glucose and xylose mixtures. Univariate and multivariate Partial Least Squares (PLS) calibration models are developed for each sugar when they are dissolved in water and in the case of the ethanol addition as a cosolvent. The models are validated by performing actual breakthrough experiments in a liquid phase using a column packed with a zeolite adsorbent.

Bosonic Representation of Matrices and Angular Momentum Probabilistic Representation of Cyclic States.

The Jordan-Schwinger map allows us to go from a matrix representation of any arbitrary Lie algebra to an oscillator (bosonic) representation. We show that any Lie algebra can be considered for this map by expressing the algebra generators in terms of the oscillator creation and annihilation operators acting in the Hilbert space of quantum oscillator states. Then, to describe quantum states in the probability representation of quantum oscillator states, we express their density operators in terms of conditional probability distributions (symplectic tomograms) or Husimi-like probability distributions.
