Background: Research has established a relationship between psychosis and physical harm in the early course of psychosis. However, little is known about the relationship between specific psychosis symptoms, such as hearing voices, and physical harm.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and typology of physical harm related to hearing voices, as well as what aspects of the voice-hearing experience retrospectively predicted incidents of harm within an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIPS).

Intracraneal complications after raquis surgery.

Intracraneal bleeding is a rare complication after raquis surgery. It is believed to occur as a drop in the intracraneal pressure after a loss of CSF secondary to an iatrogenic dural tear. We report a patient who after surgery for lumbar stenosis presented a subarachnoid haemorrhage, an intraparenchymal haematoma, and a subdural haematoma.

Six men underwent operative management of defects of the humeral head involving at least 40% of the articular surface, following posterior dislocation of the humeral head. The cause of dislocation was a grand mal seizure in three and a fall in three cases. In five cases the dislocation was reduced under general anaesthesia, and in all the posterior dislocation recurred early.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to analyse the results of Marchetti nailing.

Method: Between 1995 and 2003, 143 patients with closed fresh humeral shaft fractures were treated with the Marchetti-Vicenzi nail. The fractures were classified according to the AO classification: 37 A1, 24 A2, 25 A3, 22 B1, 15 B2, 7 B3, 7 C1, 4 C2 and 2 C3.

The physiological adenine derivatives, adenosine (ADO), adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP), adenosine 5'-diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) at concentrations ranging from 10 microM to 1 mM caused concentration-related modifications on gastric H+ secretion, as measured by the aminopyrine accumulation method, in resting and histamine-stimulated rabbit gastric glands. In resting glands, ADO caused significant concentration-related increases of the basal H+ secretion, whereas no changes were obtained in response to the other purines tested. In histamine-stimulated glands, ADO and AMP caused concentration-related potentiation of the histamine-raised H+ secretory rate, while ATP and ADP induced graded inhibition.
