We investigate the dynamics of emulsions within a two-dimensional porous medium using an integrated experimental approach that combines pore-level dynamics of single emulsions and bulk transport properties of the medium. Using an on-chip microfluidic drop-maker, we precisely control the concentration and sizes of emulsions injected into the medium. The dynamics of emulsion droplets are highly intermittent despite a small average velocity over the trajectory of an individual emulsion.

Kudo's pit pattern classification states morphological pit patterns of the Lieberkühn crypts by analyzing the superficial mucosa, predicting the histology of colorectal lesions. Its use as a highly accurate two-dimensional diagnostic criterion has increased, mostly involving expert endoscopists' judgment.

Nailfold capillaroscopy (NFC) is a validated technique for microvascular surveillance in rheumatologic diseases. NFC uses magnified photography to examine nail bed capillaries called end row loops (ERL).

There are different HET-CAM protocols widely accepted, but there is no information about which of the protocols better correlates with the results obtained in product use clinical study under the conditions of use. Two Fix Time Methods (FTM) -Lüepke and the ICCVAM guideline - and two Reaction Time Methods (RTM) -ECVAM DBALM Prot.
