Hypothermic machine perfusion in uterus transplantation in a porcine model: A proof of concept and the first results in graft preservation.

Introduction: Graft optimization is a necessity in order to develop uterus transplantation from brain-dead donors, as a complement to living donors, as these grafts are rare and the last organs retrieved in multiple organ donation. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility and interest of hypothermic machine perfusion (HMP) in uterus transplantation using a porcine model; secondary outcomes were the evaluation of the graft's tolerance to a prolonged cold ischaemia time and to find new biomarkers of uterus viability.

Material And Methods: Fifteen uterus allotransplantations were performed in a porcine model, after 18 h of cold ischaemia, divided in three groups: Static cold storage in a HTK solution, HMP (with the VitaSmart (™) machine Bridge to Life Ltd.

Prevalence of Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome Among Patients with Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: Impact of the Revised 2023 ACR/EULAR Antiphospholipid Syndrome Criteria.

Current guidelines recommend systematic screening for rheumatic diseases (RDs), including antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), in patients with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). However, these recommendations are based on limited evidence, as data on the prevalence of RD in this specific population remain scarce. In particular, the impact of the recent update to the ACR/EULAR classification criteria for APS on the prevalence of RD among RPL patients has yet to be clarified.

The human auditory cortex concurrently tracks syllabic and phonemic timescales via acoustic spectral flux.

Dynamical theories of speech processing propose that the auditory cortex parses acoustic information in parallel at the syllabic and phonemic timescales. We developed a paradigm to independently manipulate both linguistic timescales, and acquired intracranial recordings from 11 patients who are epileptic listening to French sentences. Our results indicate that (i) syllabic and phonemic timescales are both reflected in the acoustic spectral flux; (ii) during comprehension, the auditory cortex tracks the syllabic timescale in the theta range, while neural activity in the alpha-beta range phase locks to the phonemic timescale; (iii) these neural dynamics occur simultaneously and share a joint spatial location; (iv) the spectral flux embeds two timescales-in the theta and low-beta ranges-across 17 natural languages.

However, the way primary flight instruments are monitored by pilots may be negatively affected by the high confidence in systems. Continuous Adductor Canal Block Compared to Epidural Anesthesia for Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Aim: To compare the efficacy of a postoperative continuous adductor canal block (cACB) with and without a steroid adjuvant to that of epidural analgesia (EA).

Methods: Patients who underwent primary total TKA at a single institution between July 2011-November 2017 were included for retrospective analysis. TKA patients were stratified into one of the three analgesia approaches: EA, cACB without steroid adjuvant, and cACB with steroid adjuvant.
