Population growth has led to excessive land use, affecting soil suitability and sustainability. Detailed soil characterization and land evaluation for various land uses are essential steps toward achieving food security and sustaining the environment. This study classifies soils and assesses their suitability for tomato cultivation using the FAO Land Assessment Framework and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to validate simpler methods for measuring [Ga]Ga-FAPI-46 uptake by comparing them to comprehensive pharmacokinetic modeling.
  • Ten patients with pancreatobiliary cancer participated in a 90-minute dynamic PET/CT scan, and various methods, including plasma-input tissue-compartment models, were used to assess the uptake of the compound in lesions.
  • The results indicated that image-based target-to-whole blood ratio (TBR) and mean standardized uptake values (SUVmean) at 60-70 minutes post-injection are effective and reliable for quantifying [Ga]Ga-FAPI-46 uptake.

Purpose: [F]NaF PET has become an increasingly important tool in clinical practice toward understanding and evaluating diseases and conditions in which bone metabolism is disrupted. Full kinetic analysis using nonlinear regression (NLR) with a two-tissue compartment model to determine the net rate of influx (K) of [F]NaF is considered the gold standard for quantification of [F]NaF uptake. However, dynamic scanning often is impractical in a clinical setting, leading to the development of simplified semi-quantitative parameters.

This single-center retrospective study was designed to evaluate the use of basiliximab as an alternative rescue maintenance immunosuppression in situations where standard maintenance immunosuppression is not tolerated after a pancreas transplant. All pancreas transplants performed between January 11, 2006, and January 6, 2022, were reviewed. All recipients received rabbit antithymocyte globulin (rATG) induction with tacrolimus + sirolimus maintenance for simultaneous pancreas and kidney (SPK) and additional low-dose mycophenolic acid for pancreas transplant alone (PTA).

Background: Bleomycin is an oncolytic and antibiotic agent used to treat various human cancers because of its antitumor activity. Unfortunately, up to 46% of the patients treated with bleomycin develop drug-induced interstitial lung disease (DIILD) and potentially life-threatening interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. Tools and biomarkers for predicting and detecting DIILD are limited.
