Background: Radiomics provides quantitative features of pulmonary nodules (PNs) which could aid lung cancer diagnosis, but medical image acquisition variability is an obstacle to clinical application. Acquisition effects may differ between radiomic features from benign vs. malignant PNs.

Corticosteroids in severe alcohol-associated hepatitis? Not so fast: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials.

Background: Severe alcohol-associated hepatitis (AH) is rising in incidence with a high mortality burden. While corticosteroids are recommended for eligible patients with severe AH, no guidance exists for the timing of steroid initiation, tapering regimens, and surveillance of adverse events.

Objective: We aim to systematically review these variables and provide evidence-based recommendations for the inpatient and outpatient management of severe AH.

Spontaneously Photocatalytic Nanoplatform for Sensitive Diagnosis and Penetrated Therapy of Cancer.

In this study, a sensitive diagnosis and spontaneously photocatalytic therapy of cancer based on chemiluminescence (CL) and nanozyme was studied. Briefly, carbon nitride-supported copper nanoparticles (CuCNs) loaded with luminol (CuCN-L) were utilized to develop a microneedle patch (CuCN-L/MN). The CuCN-L probe could target overexpressed HO in the TME and actively emit CL to achieve cancer cell imaging for diagnosis.

Predicting residual pain after vertebral augmentation in vertebral compression fractures: a systematic review and critical appraisal of risk prediction models.

Background: Patients with vertebral compression fractures may experience unpredictable residual pain following vertebral augmentation. Clinical prediction models have shown potential for early prevention and intervention of such residual pain. However, studies focusing on the quality and accuracy of these prediction models are lacking.

Chinese herbal formula Tongxie Yaofang granules for diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase II trial.

Objectives: To assess the therapeutic effects and safety of Tongxie Yaofang (TXYF) granules vs placebo as an alternative treatment for diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). We hypothesised that TXYF would improve clinical responses among patients with IBS-D.

Design: A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase II, superiority trial.
