Aims: We aimed to investigate the role of Rnf40 in hypertension-induced cerebrovascular endothelial barrier dysfunction and cognitive impairment.
Methods: We employed microarray data analysis and integrated bioinformatics databases to identify a novel E3 ligase, Rnf40, that targets Parkin. To understand the role of RNF40 in hypertension-induced cerebrovascular endothelial cell damage, we used pAAV-hFLT1-MCS-EGFP-3×Flag-mir30shRnf40 to establish an Rnf40-deficient model in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs).
Selenium has the function of bio-stimulating hormone. However, the underlying physiological and molecular mechanisms of melatonin and abscisic acid as secondary messengers in improving cold tolerance by selenium are limited. This study investigated the effects of selenite on the cold stress of cucumber seedlings.

Objective: To investigate the effects of a three-day water-only fasting, with or without exercise-induced glycogen depletion, on autophagy activation and the molecular pathways involved in cellular damage accumulation and repair in healthy humans.
Design: A randomised, single-centre, two-period, two-sequence crossover trial.
Uterine infections reduce ruminant reproductive efficiency. Reproductive dysfunction caused by infusion of Gram-negative bacteria is characterized by the failure of embryo implantation and reduced conception rates. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a major component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, is highly abortogenic.
