The behavioral health workforce has been experiencing deepening problems with recruitment and retention, particularly in publicly funded settings serving individuals with serious mental illnesses. This quality improvement project gathered Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) participant (service user) and provider perspectives on workforce challenges. The authors conducted 8 interviews with ACT participants and 9 focus groups with ACT current staff, team leaders, and former staff.

High-density probes allow electrophysiological recordings from many neurons simultaneously across entire brain circuits but don't reveal cell type. Here, we develop a strategy to identify cell types from extracellular recordings in awake animals, revealing the computational roles of neurons with distinct functional, molecular, and anatomical properties. We combine optogenetic activation and pharmacology using the cerebellum as a testbed to generate a curated ground-truth library of electrophysiological properties for Purkinje cells, molecular layer interneurons, Golgi cells, and mossy fibers.

The Kibble-Zurek mechanism (KZM) predicts that the average number of topological defects generated upon crossing a continuous or quantum phase transition obeys a universal scaling law with the quench time. Fluctuations in the defect number near equilibrium are approximately of Gaussian form, in agreement with the central limit theorem. Using large deviations theory, we characterize the universality of fluctuations beyond the KZM and report the exact form of the rate function in the transverse-field quantum Ising model.

We demonstrate that -(TeMe)carborane directs, in the presence of linear ditopic neutral Lewis bases, the formation of co-crystals with 1D extended supramolecular networks. Specifically, the network formation is systematically stabilized by short and quasi-linear C-Te⋯N chalcogen-bonding (ChB) interactions. In sum, we report efficient carborane-based tectons to rationally design high-dimensional neutral heteromolecular networks.
