Romosozumab is an anti-sclerostin antibody that increases bone formation and decreases bone resorption, and it became available for patients at high risk of osteoporotic fractures in Japan in 2019. The aim of this study was to clarify the clinical effects, safety, and predictors of the effectiveness of 12 months of romosozumab therapy following daily or weekly administration of teriparatide. The study had an observational pre-post design and included 171 female patients.

Materials And Methods: People with diabetes accompanied by low isometric knee extensor strength using a simple manual dynamometer (n = 50) were screened and randomly divided into 2 groups: CWT (n = 25) and IWT (n = 25). Both groups were instructed by a physical therapist to perform walking training with the goal of 120 min/week over a 5-month period.
Background: This study aimed to examine the association between socioeconomic status (SES) and optimal movement behaviors including sufficient moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (PA), regular leisure-time PA, and less sedentary behavior.
Methods: We used data from the Japanese Study on Stratification, Health, Income, and Neighborhood conducted in 2012. Activity patterns and SES were measured using International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short-Version and other self-administered questionnaires.
We report the first case of fatal community-acquired pneumonia with concomitant bloodstream infection caused by the ψUSA300 strain of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The isolate was positive for Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) gene, with a unique 12-base pair deletion in the ccrB2 gene, differentiating it from the canonical USA300 strain. Despite aggressive therapeutic interventions, the patient developed multiple complications, including septic shock, which ultimately proved fatal.

This study aimed to test whether scaling-up a successful cluster randomized trial (the COMMUNICATE study, 9 intervention communities), which promoted population-level physical activity (PA), could promote PA in a broader citywide setting (29 communities) after two years, as a mid-term evaluation of the six-year scaled-up trial.
Methods: This is a single-arm, pre-post comparison of a multi-strategic community-wide intervention covering the entire Unnan City, Japan.
