Background: Lacking causal treatment options in most cases, severe IgE-mediated food allergies (IgE-FA) are associated with a high burden of disease due to permanent risk of anaphylactic reactions after accidental allergen ingestion. Tendon-driven continuum soft robots are currently applied in research and are given a promising perspective for future applications. For the routing of the tendons from the actuator to the point where the loading is demanded, two routing possibilities exist in the literature: internal routing of the tendons with the help of structurally embedded Bowden sheaths and external tendon routing where the tendon is not in contact with the soft structure. The application of the latter is a clear disadvantage for applications due to the high risk of interference with the tendon, for example, causing the tendon to break.

We characterized circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) in obese and lean humans, identifying transcriptional cargo differentially expressed in obesity. Since circulating EVs may have broad origin, we compared this obesity EV transcriptome to expression from human visceral adipose tissue derived EVs from freshly collected and cultured biopsies from the same obese individuals. Using a comprehensive set of adipose-specific epigenomic and chromatin conformation assays, we found that the differentially expressed transcripts from the EVs were those regulated in adipose by BMI-associated SNPs from a large-scale GWAS.
