Objective: The present study was planned to focus on comparative effects of telmisartan vs lisinopril on blood pressure in patients of metabolic syndrome

Methods: The study was carried out on 62 patients of metabolic syndrome from Dec 2010 to Oct 2012 in OPD of Institute. There were two groups, A and B. Group A- Telmisartan (31 patients) and Group B- Lisinopril (31 patients) receiving Telmisartan 40 mg and lisinopril 5 mg orally once a day respectively for 12 weeks.

Background: Nebivolol is a third-generation β-blocker, with highest β(1) selectivity and nitric-oxide-derived vasodilatation. It also exhibits antiproliferative and antioxidant property that has beneficial metabolic profile compared to second-generation β blockers like atenolol. This study was planned to study the comparative effects of nebivolol and atenolol on metabolic parameters in patients with essential hypertension.

Objectives: The study was planned to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Livwin (polyherbal formulation) in acute viral hepatitis.

Materials And Methods: In this study, there were 29 patients in each group, receiving either Livwin (containing Ashwagandha, Arjuna, Bhumyamalaki, Daruharidra, Guduchi, Kutki and Punarnava) or placebo capsules containing lactose powder (500 mg). Both drugs were given orally two capsules two times a day for eight weeks followed by treatment free period of four weeks.
