Dietary supplements and agricultural byproducts were characterized by neutron activation analysis. The nutritional potential of supplements was evaluated according to alternative and commercial categories, using analysis of variance and cluster analysis, and recommended dietary intake for children. The results indicated statistically significant differences between both categories for the elements Cs, K, Na, and Rb.

Article Synopsis
  • Feeding dairy ewes with fresh sulla forage (FSF) improves feed intake, milk production, and oxidative status due to its condensed tannins, suggesting that dehydrated sulla forage (DSF) can also preserve nutritional values.
  • This research compared various diets (including sulla hay, DSF, and FSF) to assess their impact on feed efficiency, milk yield, and plasma oxidant-antioxidant balance in dairy ewes.
  • The DSF2 diet showed increased dry matter and vitamin E intake, comparable milk yield to FSF diets, and exhibited the lowest levels of oxidative stress, likely due to its higher vitamin E content.

The cultivation of wheat has been part of the evolution of human civilisation since ancient times. Wheat breeding has modified some of its characteristics to obtain improved varieties with high production potential that better meet the demands of the bread and pasta industry. Even today, there are still old varieties, landraces, adapted to particular environments.

Introduction: Evaluating overall survival in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) can often be confounded by bias introduced by treatment switching. SERAPHIN was a large RCT that evaluated the effects of long-term treatment with the endothelin receptor antagonist macitentan in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. In an intent-to-treat (ITT) analysis, a non-significant decrease in the risk of all-cause mortality up to study closure was reported with macitentan 10 mg versus placebo.
